Characteristics and characteristics of microwave sensors

Nov 06, 2021

Microwave is an electromagnetic wave with a wavelength of 1~1000mm. It has the properties of electromagnetic waves and is different from ordinary radio waves and light waves. Compared with electric microwaves with longer wavelengths, microwaves have the following characteristics:

1. The directional radiation device is easy to manufacture;

2. It is easy to reflect when encountering obstacles at work;

3. Poor diffraction ability;

4. Good transmission performance, with little influence from smoke, flame, dust, strong light, etc. during transmission;

5. The absorption of microwaves by the medium is proportional to the dielectric constant of the medium, and water has the strongest ability to absorb microwaves. It is these characteristics that form the basis of micro-method testing.

The microwave emitted by the transmitting antenna will be absorbed or reflected when it encounters the measured object, causing the power to change. If the receiving antenna is used to receive the microwave that passes through or is reflected by the measured object, and converts it into an electrical signal, which is measured and indicated by the measuring circuit, the microwave detection process is realized. According to the above principles, microwave detection sensors can be divided into two types: reflective and interrupted.
