door head

May 06, 2022

A door header is a bracket built into the top of the door, and it may simply be called a "header". It is an important component of door and window frames and is important for structural integrity. Doors and windows put pressure on the surrounding frame structure as they open and close, so when doors and windows have frames, additional reinforcement is required.

Ordinary people can never see the head of the door because it is hidden under the wall along with the rest of the frame of the house. Visually, the door head runs along the top of the door, and the design is decorated to match the exterior of the house and may vary from a relatively restrained classical design to a delicate fascia.

For automatic doors, the door operator is generally installed on the door head, either exposed or hidden. Most of our sensors are also installed on the door heard.
